Judith Gail (Havey) Lilly was born in Chicago in 1944. Her parents John and Genevie Havey and sister Patricia Havey moved to suburban Arlington Heights, IL. in 1950. Judy graduated from Arlington Heights High School where she met lifelong friends. She began her business career as an executive secretary in the chemical industry. In 1968 she married Michael Lilly, a marriage lasting 56 years. Michael’s career with Cargill brought multiple family moves across the country. With every move, Judy made new lifelong friends.
Judy and Mike have two daughters, Elizabeth (Carissa) Lilly and Susan (Stephen) Flueck and two granddaughters, Miranda and Fiona Lilly. Judy was a loving and devoted mother that took pride in raising her children. In 2012, Judy was delighted when her twin granddaughters arrived.
Judy had a passion for interior and exterior home design and applied her skills toward seven homes across the country from New Jersey to California. She loved cooking and had an extensive library of cookbooks and recipes. She continued making wonderful meals for the family even after cancer took her ability to enjoy her own creations. She loved gardening, especially when husband Mike pulled the weeds. Her knowledge of annual and perennial flowers was impressive.
Judy loved and cared for several cats over her lifetime, from Cleo to Sadie and many in between. They are sure to be waiting to meet her at Rainbow Bridge.
Judy fought cancer with courage, grace, and humor. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 16th at the Plymouth Community Center, 14800 34th Avenue, Plymouth, MN in Plymouth Room B. Service will begin at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Croix Hospice or the Animal Humane Society (four locations in the twin cities).
