It is with heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Mother, Karen Hayes, on February 26, 2026. She was a beautiful Mom, with a deep faith, a gentle heart, and filled with strength and love. Her life reflected Christ's light in the way she cared for her family, comforted her friends, and served others with grace and kindness.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents: Lyla and Delbert Eherenfeldt, her spouse James Hayes, her son David Hayes, granddaughter Mackenzie Anderson.

Survived by Children: Connie Townsend (Jerry), Joni Heinsch (Dave), Vickie Gallagher (Mike), Beth Downer (Ken), Allan Hayes (Deborah);

Grandchildren; Nicole Jensen (Mike), Cassie Miller (Dylan), Aly Fletcher (Matt), Jacob Heinsch (Kyla), Tyler Anderson (Sammi), Angie Bradley, Lindsey Hang, (Franklin), Bekah Downer, Ashley Downer, Caitlin Hayes. Great Grandchildren, Kinlee, Levi, Wesley, Grace, Jett, Wyatt, Teagan, Tatum, Duke, Booker, Calan, Dakota, Emory, Kai; Sister, Janice Nunn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Karen at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 155 Cty Rd. 24, Wayzata, MN. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11 AM. Visitation preceding the service at 10 AM. Burial and Lunch immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Karen’s family requests that memorials be mailed to “Karen Hayes Charitable Fund” C/O Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel 15800 37Th Ave N, Plymouth MN 55446. There are several memorial designations that were cherished by Karen where donations will be made in her memory.
