Karen Ann (Swan) Slaney, age 87, of Champlin, passed away on February 26, 2026.
Karen was a long-time resident of Maple Grove and worked as a Paraprofessional for the Osseo School District until retirement in 1997. She and Dennis moved to Champlin in 2007. Karen was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Family was her most important focus and she enjoyed spending time with her parents and 9 siblings, often talking fondly of family trips and holidays. Karen was a supportive wife and mother, always there for her husband and children, creating a wonderful home and making many memories. When her grandchildren came along, she was a most devoted grandmother. Nothing made her happier than having her grandkids over, playing games, reading books and preparing them meals. Lifelong friendships were cultivated and she still enjoyed lunches out with her high school girlfriends, neighbors and co-workers.
Preceded in death by parents Cletus and Bernadette Swan, brother Dennis Swan, brothers-in-law Bert Rogers and Joseph Wallek.
Survived by husband Dennis Slaney, children Brett, Joel (Stefany) and Laura Henderson (Terry) and grandchildren Zachary Slaney, Hailey Slaney, Alexa Henderson, Grayden Henderson and Ava Henderson, siblings Larry Swan (Darlene), Colleen Swan-Schirmers, Greg Swan (Leslie), Mike Swan (Martha), Kevin Swan (Katie), Timothy Swan (Cindy), Therese Wallek and Brian Swan (Michelle).
