Katherine "Kathy" May of Brooklyn Park. Our dearly beloved Kathy May passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 17th, 2024. Preceded in death by parents James T. Henry Sr. & Vivian M. Henry. Kathy was the 8th of 12 siblings. She attended St. Brigid Elementary School and Xenia High School in Xenia, Ohio. Kathy earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Central State College in Wilberforce, Ohio and a master's degree at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kathy enjoyed teaching elementary students in Catholic and public schools in Minneapolis. She was an active and dedicated member of St. Gerard Parish in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with family, friends, going to movies and theatre, playing games, and traveling. She loved people from all walks of life. Kathy touched many lives in and out of the classroom. She put up a good fight despite her declining health. In Hospice care at home, she was at peace and had hardly any pain surprisingly until the end. Her last breath was listening to a Divine Mercy Chaplet that was sung.
Kathy's loving husband, James May Jr., and seven of her siblings preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, James A. May & daughter, Sonya May; brother, James T. Henry, Jr., sisters, Irene Henry Corbett, Patricia Henry Walker, Barbara Henry Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all.
