Kirby V. Jensen

Passed peacefully on January 7, 2017 after a long hard fight with dementia.

Survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Georgia; sons, Nicholas (Christa), Andrew, Derick (Caroline), Jesse (girlfriend, Wendy), Jason (Megan); grandchildren, Dylan, Irene and Virginia; brothers, Kevin (Karen) and Kim (Cecelia); niece, Anastasia (Robert) Murry; nephew, Dmitriy; great-nephew, Ethan.

Preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Jacob Jensen; an infant sister and nephew, Nicolai.  Kirby gave back to the community through being a Webelos leader and coaching; wrestling, football, basketball, soccer and 18 years with the Brooklyn Center American Little League.  He worked with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for more than 30 years.  Traveling to 15 countries and all 50 states Kirby displayed his zest for adventure.  He was passionate about cars, music and was an avid collector.  Kirby will most be missed for his incredible sense of humor, sharp wit, storytelling and being the life of the party.

Special thank you to the wonderful people that helped Kirby during his illness; Dr. Mark Ostlund and staff at Fairview Bloomington Lake Clinic, Northridge Health Rehab team, especially nurse Joni, the entire team with the Fairview Homecare and Hospice – Princeton, nurse, Terri, aide, Karen, social worker, Stephanie and music therapist, Breannen. Thank you for the selfless and compassionate care you provided.
