Levi Delbert Johnson, 83, of Plymouth, MN, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2022, after living with dementia.

Levi was born in Tolna, North Dakota July 1, 1939, to Rachel and Gilbert Johnson. He is preceded in death by his first wife Doris, who passed away in 1991, and brothers Ellvan and Orville. He is survived by brother Donald Johnson (Margarita), sons Tim (Maria), Terry (Marlys), and daughter Tracy (Ron).  In addition, he is survived by his wife Colleen and step-daughters Erin, Aimee (Brent), and Angela (Casey).  Levi was a tremendous grandfather to his 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Spending his entire career in the grocery business, Levi was first with Red Owl in Valley City and Fargo, ND, then Burnsville, MN, eventually owning his store in Fairmont, MN.  He concluded his career as a store manager for Byerly’s in Golden Valley and was a favorite colleague and supervisor to many with whom he worked.

Levi enjoyed golfing, taking family trips, skiing, playing cards, or any other competitive activity.  He was known as a sharpshooter at billiards and loved competing for badminton pool champion.  He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and participated in bowling and golf leagues, but he mainly loved spending time with friends and family.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he was selfless with his time and energy and will be dearly missed.

Memorial service will be held Friday, September 9th at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel in Plymouth, MN.  A visitation will be at 3 pm, with a service at 4 pm.  The service at 4 will be livestreamed. Please click the link at the bottom of this obituary to watch.
