Listen to Obituary

Linda Norha was a beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and cousin to many. Linda transitioned to her new life on Monday, May 4th in her favorite spot...her sunroom overlooking the pond with the birds feeding next to her. She was just shy of 82 years old.

Linda was born in Biwabik, MN in 1944 to Art and Edna Cartwright and grew up in a home filled with lots of family and visitors that would often stay for extended periods. She and her younger sister, Shirley (Czarniecki), shared a bed until Linda left home. Their strong sister bond grew over time into a beautiful friendship.

Linda was a woman ahead of her time. She opted to get an Associates Degree in accounting from the MN School of Business when no other women were doing so. She worked on the first accounts payable computer at Bemis Bag Co until she met and married her husband of 56 years, Russ Norha in 1966. Linda and Russ lived and worked in Ohio, Chicago, Toronto and finally settled in Plymouth MN in 1972 all while raising their two children, Anita and Eric. Linda and Russ started investing in real estate soon after their move to MN. This began a long career in property ownership, management, and building commercial facilities. Linda just retired this past December! But Linda's favorite "job" over her lifetime was being mom to Anita and Eric. She used to tell them that she had the most important job in the world... being their mom. Linda valued family and friends tremendously. Over the years, she was active in tennis club, bowling club, gourmet club, book club, and her beloved "Lunch Bunch". Most of her friendships lasted well over 50 years... quite a few were life long. Linda leaves a legacy of the importance of friends and family.

Linda loved being a grandmother. She was only 50 when her first grandson, Josh, was born, so she was very hands-on helping with him, and then with Ben and Bri. She and Russ spent time on Marco Island for many winters, enjoying time with her children and grandchildren on the\ beach. In her later years, Linda was blessed with two more grandchildren, Kayden and Livi, whom she loved dearly. Linda was also an avid gardener and amateur nature photographer, taking countless pictures of her beautiful flower gardens and the birds that visited. She also enjoyed interior design and of course, bargain shopping.

Linda lived and died with grace and beauty. She never once complained or uttered a crabby word while lung cancer slowly robbed her of her life. Anita was blessed to live with her for her last eight months, where they enjoyed conversation and eating good food together, watching the many birds that came to feed and lots of Netflix. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter Anita (Scott Daniels), grandchildren Josh, Ben, Bri, Kayden and Livi, daughter-in-law Katie, sister Shirley and many other family and friends

A service in memory of Linda will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at 2pm at Gearty Delmore Plymouth Chapel with visiting time after the service.
