Lynette Johnson was born in Wibaux, Montana on June 17, 1930 to Steve and Josephine (Sifert) Remillard and entered eternal life on April 30, 2026. She was raised in Glendive, Montana. Lynette lived a life marked by faith, generosity, and perseverance. Though blind in one eye until age 18, she worked tirelessly to afford the surgery that restored her sight—an early sign of her strength and determination.
Lynette was blessed with a wonderful marriage to Earl Johnson until his passing in 1986.
She had a long and successful career as Executive Assistant to Attorney Arley Bjella, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent Financial).
A devoted member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Lynette attended daily Mass and supported numerous church projects both here and in India.
Lynette loved sports, reading, meeting new people, and traveling. She visited India seven times--beginning at age 78!-- and made a cherished pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2016. She treasured her friendships with priests Fr. Paul, Fr. Papi, and Fr. Inna from India who became like family to her and she supported their ministries with love and joy.
Lynette’s life was a testament to faith lived generously. She will be remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the many lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and her sisters Genevieve (Bunny) Remillard and Charlotte Howard. She is survived by her nieces Stephanie (Mike) Mulherin and Jennifer Howard, and nephew Tom (Pam) Howard, as well as many great-nieces and -nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 4 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Golden Valley, 145 Jersey Ave S, with visitation for one hour before Mass. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lynette’s memory to Sharing & Caring Hands of Minneapolis.
