Mabel E. Nelson

Mabel E. (Saign) Nelson was born August 18, 1926 in Bagley, MN. She passed away in Plymouth, MN on August 5, 2026, just a few days shy of her 100th birthday. 

Mabel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Nelson; son, Gary Nelson; parents and siblings. 

She is survived by her loving daughters, Marsha and Linda; son-in-law, Randy; her cherished grandchildren, Shannon, Bret, Emily, Todd, Matt, and Alison; great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Max, Crosby, Cash, Mikko, and Isla. 

Mabel was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church, the Ladies Society, and OWLS. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, camping, playing cards and games, and spending time at the St. Louis Park Senior Community Center. Most of all, Mabel loved being with her beloved family. 

Mabel treated each day like a fun adventure. She had robust excitement, high energy, and a deep joy for living. She will be forever loved and missed. 

Private funeral services will be held for immediate family members. A memorial gathering for extended family and friends will be held at a later date.
