In 1948, she went on the road with a Christian group called Good Road Musical promoting four absolutes: “Honesty, Purity, Love, and Unselfishness.” While traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast that summer, she was also a nanny for several children of the crew. Marge started her teaching career while teaching 3 rd grade in 1952 for the Southfield schools. While living in the family home, she and her brother, Henry (Bud), took care of their father after their mother passed away in 1954. She was very involved in their church, The Worldwide Church of God and while on a church trip in Kentucky, she and Henry fell in love with a beautiful 7-acre piece of property in Mt. Sterling. They moved to their retirement home in 1998. While there, they made many new friends at their new church called Queen Street Christian Fellowship. One of Marjorie’s favorite pass-times was making and creating authentic clothing for dolls. At one point she had over 20 dolls in her collection. They both lived there until 2014 when they were moved to The Waters of Plymouth so they could be closer to family and be looked after in their later years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sr. and Inga Hillman and brother Henry Jr (Bud). She is survived by her sister Marilyn Anderson, nephews Brian (Karen) Anderson, Douglas Anderson, Alan (Tami) Anderson and 6 grand nieces & nephews, as well as 14 great nieces & nephews.
