MERRIAM, MARGARET DENISE “Peg”

Age 66 of Coon Rapids, passed away peacefully Nov. 13 at the J.A. Wedum Hospice. She was the middle child of eleven children of George and Frances Couillard (Fran) Merriam of Crystal.

She was a graduate of Winona State University.

Peg is survived by her sister, Lora (Greg) Blevins, nine brothers: Mike (Patty), Gene (Sara Meyer), Tim, Steve, Joel, Bill (Lori), John (Cindy), Pat (Julie) and Chuck (Jill) Merriam and sister-in-law Maureen Merriam. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by many Merriam and Couillard cousins.

In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by sisters-in-law Margit and Patti Merriam and cousin Joe Couillard.

Aunt Peg delighted in her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was renowned for entertaining young relatives at her annual Halloween party. She was the family genealogy expert, and also steeped in the history of European monarchs, especially British. She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Monday, November 21 with visitation beginning 10 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson St., Anoka. Memorials preferred to Allina Foundation for the J.A. Wedum Hospice.
