Marianne Jenkins Johnson, age 96, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Francis and Ann (Aebly) Jenkins. Marianne married Larry Johnson on September 28, 1957 and they lived in Champlin, Minnesota for most of their 54 years of marriage. Marianne went to St. Catherine’s University and became a registered nurse. Throughout her career she worked in hospital nursing, occupational health nursing, clinic, and long term care. She dedicated her life to being a stay at home mom after she and Larry had their three children-Jeffrey, Lisa, and Dianne. She enjoyed gardening, summers spent at the cabin she and Larry built on Kenney Lake, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Jessica) Johnson, Lisa (Patrick) Luetmer, and Dianne Kinnan; siblings, Gilbert (Della) Jenkins, Joan Reinhardt, Robert (Judy) Jenkins, Dianne (John) Rothfork, Frances Gillespie, Ann (Frank) Friendshuh and Kathleen Jenkins; brother-in-law, Steve Johnson; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Johnson, Will Johnson, Marianne Luetmer, Daniel Luetmer, Peter Luetmer, Joey Kinnan, Andy Kinnan, Anna Kinnan; great grandchild, Frederick Johnson.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Larry; parents, Francis and Ann (Aebly); sister, Patricia Knapp; brothers, Donald Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins; brother in-laws Dick Reinhardt, Dave Gillespie, Robert Johnson, Dean Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Bill Johnson, Greg Johnson, Ken Hughes ; sister-in laws, Donna Jenkins, Marge Hughes, Mary Johnson, and Val Johnson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Avenue North, Brooklyn Park with visitation one hour prior to Mass. I lieu of flowers, donations will be used to have Masses said for Marianne and Larry.
Marianne will be forever remembered for her grace, kindness and love towards others and of course, her steadfast faith.
