Listen to Obituary

age 58, of New Hope, MN, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born with a calm, steady spirit and a heart big enough to hold all the people, teams, and causes he cared about, Mark lived a life grounded in kindness and loyalty. He began his career at Parkside Printing in Shakopee while attending VoTech, and for the last 25 years he found his home as a dedicated member of the Minuteman Press family. There, his attention to detail, unwavering standards, and fierce loyalty made him not only a valued colleague, but a true friend.

Mark’s passions were music and sports—especially Minnesota teams—proof that true loyalty means cheering through both the glory days and the “maybe next year” seasons. He spent many years playing competitive men’s softball and also enjoyed playing coed leagues with Wendy, the love of his life. They were friends for quite a few years before they started dating, and in time, they finally found each other. That friendship became the foundation of a marriage grounded in laughter, friendship, and faith. They married on October 2, 2004, and spent their years together building a life filled with joy, trust, and shared dreams.

A steadfast Christian, Mark’s faith never wavered, even in illness. Since his diagnosis, Mark faced colon cancer with courage and grace. He showed us that strength is not loud or boastful — sometimes, it’s quiet, steady, and deeply rooted in faith. He was devoted to his family, always ready to lend a hand, listen without judgment, and bring calm to any storm. He had a gift for making people feel truly seen and valued—not because he tried, but because it was simply who he was: loving, caring, sensitive, and genuine.

Mark will be dearly missed by his wife, Wendy; parents, Jim and Karen Wiczek; sister, Jenny House; brother, Brian (Alyssa) Wiczek; nieces and nephews, JT House, Ashley House, Davis Wiczek, and Joey Wiczek; and many other family members and friends whose lives are richer for having known him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5–7 PM with a 6:45 PM prayer service at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11 AM at The Church of St. Raphael, 7301 Bass Lake Road, Crystal, MN 55428, with visitation one hour prior to Mass.  A livestream link will be available here prior to Mark's Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allina Health Cancer Institute. The family invites you to cheer on your favorite Minnesota sports team or play your favorite song a little louder in Mark’s honor.
