Mary Elizabeth Wells

Mary Elizabeth Wells, 86, of Minneapolis, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. Born to Mary Weathersby Estrada and James Estrada in Chicago, November 9, 1939. Mary dedicated her life to education as an exceptional math teacher who truly loved helping others. Earned her master's degree in teaching and devoted many years to her students before retiring from Franklin Middle School. She has a special gift for making complex concepts understandable and believes deeply in encouraging her students to believe in themselves. Her patience, intelligence, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was also a proud member of Delta Sorority, where she valued sisterhood, service, and lifelong friendships. Mary was known for her generous spirit and selfless heart- she would do anything for anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Weathersby Estrada and James Estrada, and her sister, Judy Estrada. Mary is survived by her two sons, Michael and David Wells; her cherished grandchildren; and many beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Celebration of Life service to be held at a later date. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
