Billing, Michael T.
Age 61, of Corcoran passed away Sept 10, 2026, after a brief illness.
For 33 years, Mike shared his life with Sondra, the love of his life. Together they built a family rooted in devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. As a father to Vince and Gabby, and a loving grandpa to sweet Kollyns, Mike poured his heart into every moment. He was a coach, a mentor, a steady presence—someone whose hugs could quiet any storm and whose encouragement made you believe you could do anything.
Mike lived his life in service to the people he loved. He was a long-standing member of The Knights of Columbus, truly showing the life of service he lived. He worked long days and late nights, traveled wherever his career took him, and made sacrifices that often went unseen. He asked for nothing in return. His love was simple, steady, and unconditional.
He spent countless hours coaching youth hockey, driving to practices and tournaments, and cheering from the stands. He showed up—again and again—because that’s who he was. His children knew they could count on him, not just as a dad, but as their biggest supporter.
In his career as a construction management engineer, Mike proudly contributed to projects across the country, including the 212 projects here in Minnesota. He approached his work with the same dedication and commitment he brought to his family.
In the quiet moments, Mike found joy in the garden, garlic was his specialty. He took great pride in cultivating many different varieties and species. In the last few years, he also took to a great passion of smoking meat, as well as processing all the family's venison. Both of these things brought him joy and reflected his patience, curiosity, and hardworking nature, allowing him to share the fruits of his labors with family and friends.
Mike will be remembered for his dedication to family, generosity, work ethic, and the way he made people feel seen, supported, and loved. His legacy lives in the memories he created, the miles he traveled, the sacrifices he made, and the love he gave so freely. His impact will echo through his family for generations.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Sondra; children, Vincent (Aliisa) and Gabrielle Billing; grandchild, Kollyns; mother, Carolyn Billing; sister, Sheila (Lonnie) Billing-Peterson; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Orelin Billing; niece, Alissa Peterson.
