Michael "Mike" Stephen McLain

Michael "Mike" Stephen McLain, 80, of St. Louis Park, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025.

Mike was born in Iowa, grew up in Ottumwa and attended Iowa State University, where he met his wife, Virginia (Ginny).  Mike and Ginny raised their family in St. Louis Park.

Mike especially enjoyed playing golf and spending time at the family cabin in northern MN.  His hobbies also included reading-- mysteries and historical nonfiction were some of his favorites--and volunteering at church.

After a long career in the insurance industry, he retired from the Minnesota Department of Commerce where he worked as an insurance investigator.

Mike is survived by his wife Ginny; daughters Laura and Betsey; brother Dick; sister- in-law Jan; and nephew Chris and his wife Lori.

Funeral Services will be held at Vista Lutheran Church, 4003 Wooddale Avenue South, St. Louis Park, MN on Friday, November 21 with visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00.
