It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Nicholas Pinkelman aka “Pink”, of Plymouth, who left us tragically on July 9, 2026, at the much-too-young age of 45.
Nick was born on March 4, 1981, to Rodney and Mary Jean Pinkelman in St. Louis Park. He attended Wayzata High School (99) and went onto Southwest Minnesota State University (03) graduating with a degree in Sports Management. Nick was a lifelong athlete with a passion for all sports. That passion evolved into a deep calling to teach and guide the next generation of athletes. For the last 26 years he poured endless hours, patience, and love into training and shaping the lives of his athletes from preschoolers to high schoolers to professionals and everyone in between. He started his coaching career in 1999 with 7 summer t-ball teams at Plymouth Parks and Rec. He continued his own learning in performance training with an internship at the University of Minnesota and then working with Los Angeles Angels as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. He took his experience to Explosive Edge Athletics before he decided to start his own performance training firm, F2P. He continued his career at USA Prime Twin Cities.
Nick had an unparalleled gift for seeing the potential in everyone. Countless athletes will remember his invaluable wisdom, relentless encouragement, and vivacious laugh. While we struggle to understand why his time with us was cut so short, we take comfort in knowing the immense legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of the athletes he mentored.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Jean Pinkelman (née Eickhoff).
Nick is survived by his father Rodney Pinkelman, his siblings Teresa (Scott) Kohl, Suzanne Pinkelman, Charleen (Matthew) Scherer, and Christopher (Mia) Pinkelman. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews: Elleann, Emmalynn, Eva James, Alexa, Noelle, Mandy, Jonathon, Christian, Allen, Alec, and Sam; many more extended family members, friends and athletes.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Thursday, August 6th, at Church of Saint Bartholomew, 630 Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata 55391. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church.
