Patricia (Duggan) Engel , age 72, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Minnetonka, Minnesota on her 47th wedding anniversary. Born on September 14, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Patti brought warmth and light to every space she entered throughout her life.
Patti was the kind of person whose unmistakable laugh could fill a room and make everyone feel instantly at ease. Her proud Irish spirit shone through in her quick wit, gentle humor, always delivered with a perfectly timed smile. She had a deep love for flowers and gardening-finding joy in nurturing beauty and watching things grow-much like the way she cared for people. Whether tending to her garden or offering a kind word to someone in need, Patti lived with grace and generosity.
She gave freely of her time and heart through volunteering and quiet acts of kindness. Patti always put others before herself, embodying compassion in both word and deed. To know her was to feel welcomed, cared for, and just a little brighter for having crossed her path.
Patti is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Engel; her daughters Meaghan Cavallaro (Nicholas) and Shannon Westlund (Daniel); her grandchildren, Finn and Eleanor Westlund; her brother, Sean Duggan (Rachel); and her many nieces and nephew.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Duggan, and her brother, William "Chip" Duggan.
In honor of Patti's memory and the compassion she showed throughout her life, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/mnnd.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Saint Patrick 6820 St. Patrick's Lane. Visitation at 10am with a luncheon to follow the service.
