PATRICIA FRIEDRICH

Pat was born January 8, 1946 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Anton “Bob” and Muriel (Gallery) Eisenbarth.  Pat was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, MN.  She attended grade school at Saint Michaels Catholic School in Morgan, Minnesota.  Pat attended high school at Morgan Public High School and graduated in 1964.

Her first job was at the Red Owl headquarters in Hopkins.  Then she worked at IBM and 3M in St. Louis Park.

She married her high school sweetheart, Gale Friedrich at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, MN on November 12, 1966.

Pat and Gale were blessed with two children, Michelle and Jason.  Pat and Gale moved to New Hope, MN in 1971 and made that community their home from then on.

She set up and had a daycare service for many years.  Then she worked for the Osseo School District and Maple Grove Junior High School until she retired in 2007.  After retirement, Pat volunteered at Oxbow Elementary School in Champlain, MN where her grandchildren Adam and Ella went to school.

Pat was active in her community and enjoyed going to her children’s soccer, baseball, and hockey games.  She volunteered at her church women’s group and worked on kid pack. Pat also enjoyed working in her flower gardens at the lake and in New Hope.

Pat cherished every moment with her family from her proud moment of becoming a mother to each of her two children to becoming a proud grammy to her three grandsons and granddaughter.  She spent many wonderful moments with the children camping, going to soccer and hockey games and going to numerous school events.  She also enjoyed creating picture journals every year of the grandchildren’s activities.

In 2008, Pat was diagnosed with breast cancer which was treated with chemo and radiation followed with oral medications.  This cancer was found to be in remission a few years later.  In 2016 the cancer reappeared as bone cancer.  Pat took oral chemo medications for years which arrested the cancer growth.  In October 2022, it was found that the cancer was spreading and she began weekly chemo infusions.  Pat fought cancer hard and lived with a positive attitude in spite of the cancer.  Thank you to Dr. Mehrotra and the entire caring staff at the North Memorial Cancer Center.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents Anton “Bob” and Muriel Eisenbarth, brother Loren, father and mother-in law Alfred and Ella Friedrich, brother-in-law Dennis, sister-in-law Eunice Tonak and brother-in-law Donald Tonak.

Pat is survived by her loving family: husband Gale; children Michelle Follmer of Champlin, Jason and wife Kerstin of Ellenstedt, Germany; grandchildren Adam and Ella Follmer of Champlin, Lukas and Hanno Friedrich of Ellenstedt, Germany; sister Kathy, brothers David and Mike all of Morgan, MN; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
