Priscilla (Sil) Lanning

With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Priscilla (Sil) Ann Lanning. She left this world peacefully on December 9, 2025, after a long-fought battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Sil was born on January 27, 1947. Sil filled every room with kindness, humor and a spirit that made people instantly at ease. 

Sil was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anita Simpson and her brother Loren Simpson. Sil is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Lanning, the love of her life. Their marriage was a true partnership, rooted in laughter, loyalty and an unshakable bond that carried them through every season of life.

She leaves behind two sons: Joel (Erika) and Chad (Kimberly) who adored her beyond measure. To them, she was not just a mother but a steady source of comfort, generosity and love.

Sil's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her unwavering compassion and generosity. She approached every challenge with remarkable courage and never hesitated to offer a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. Her gentle wisdom and heartfelt laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Sil poured her heart into her five grandchildren: Jerad (Emily), Mackenzie (Mitchell), Jacob (Abbie), Matthew and Emily. Along with four great-grandchildren.

Sil also leaves three stepchildren Michelle Neikirk (Peter), Eric Lanning and Ryan Lanning. Along with step grandchildren Morgan and Josh.

Sil is also survived by her sister Janet (Robert) Traun, sister-in law Jette Simpson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her family was her greatest joy, and she made sure they always knew it. Sil treasured her friendships just as dearly. She had a special way of making people feel valued and understood. Over the years she built lifelong friendships that became like family.

Priscilla built a distinguished career in banking, known for her integrity, leadership and care for those she worked with. Sil earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Her professional accomplishments were a great source of pride for her. But nothing brought her more joy than family.

Priscilla's home was always filled with warmth, stories and the kind of love that made everyone feel welcome. Her family will forever carry her strength, kindness and gentle spirit in their hearts.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Copperfield Hill where Sil lived for the last six years of her life. The staff at Copperfield Hill always treated Priscilla with a kind heart and compassion.

Interim Hospice Employees were also compassionate and treated Sil with dignity and grace.

Services with be held on December 20th at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home at 11am with visitation an hour prior and lunch to follow, 3888 West Broadway Avenue, Robbinsdale MN 55422.
