Raymond L. Swadner

Ray was born on July 19, 1933 to parents Ruth and Raymond F. Swadner. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard Swadner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathie Swadner, his brother Robert (Diana) Swadner, and his children David and Becky Roy, as well as his sister-in-law Nancy Jarrard and many long time friends from Saturday Nighters.

He graduated from De La Salle High School and was a proud veteran of the U S Army.

Ray was Vice-President of Keenan and Clarey Minneapolis and later opened a new division at Miller & Schroeder Financial. Then he worked in the insurance industry for several years. After retiring, his last job, one that he enjoyed the most, was delivering parts for Red Rooster Auto Parts.

Ray was a gambler. He was an excellent Bridge player and especially enjoyed playing Black Jack in Las Vegas, Laughlin and in local MN casinos as well as betting on the horses at Canterbury Park.

He passed away peacefully on May 16 at St. Therese of New Hope Care Center after a long illness. He will be greatly missed by many friends and relatives.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, 4087 W Broadway Avenue, on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour before the service. Please wear a mask. Private burial at Fort Snelling.
