Ruth Winifred Fassett

Ruth W. (Tuffley) Fassett, 92, of Minneapolis passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2026.

Born on December 7, 1933 in Richland Center, WI, Ruth was raised in Minneapolis and split her time as an adult between California and Minnesota.

She was known for her tremendous capacity for love - of family, friends, the out-of-doors, dancing and ice cream (maybe in that order) - and for her social justice activism.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 70 years, John, her children Gwendolyn, Karen, John and Elizabeth, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was much loved by all and will be greatly missed.*

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Peace Garden at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis on June 27th at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Ruth's honor could be made to Doctors without Borders (give.doctorswithoutborders.org), InterAct International (iinteract.org/donate) or The Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org).
