Shawn A. Slaven

Shawn Aaron Slaven, age 50, of Plymouth MN passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025. Born October 15, 1975 in Ravenna, Ohio to Richard and Barbara Slaven.

Shawn went on to study economics at Kenyon College in Ohio. Ambitious to pursue this path, he received his MBA from the University of Iowa.

In 2011, Shawn took up running. He was known by friends to always have a marathon in his back pocket. He loved animals, hiking, and traveling; he had a strong affinity for crows, ducks, cats, and other peculiar critters.

His generosity, intelligence, and wit steadied all his relationships. Shawn’s love for his family was endless, and he will be missed by all in the community whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie; his father, Richard and stepmother Linda; and by his six children: Theo (21), Joseph (19), Caleb (16), Soren (14), Hannah (14), and Ella (11). Shawn is survived by numerous friends and relatives. Shawn is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 30 from 3 to 6 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N (@ Vicksburg Lane).

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM Monday, December 1, with a visitation after 9:30 at the funeral home.
