Shirley Eileen DuBois

Shirley Eileen DuBois, age 70 of Plymouth, MN passed away after a long battle with cancer on April 6th, 2026, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 14th, more information to come.

Shirley was born November 19, 1955, to Orlend William Schmidt and Yvonne Schmidt Walker in Wells, Minnesota. She graduated in 1974 from Freeborn High School. In 1977 she married William DuBois and together they had 3 children. They divorced in 2006.

Shirley worked at Northwestern Bell, AT&T, Messiah United Methodist Church, D&D Autoworks, Michaels, and HomeGoods before retiring in 2023 as an Office Manager from Park East Chiropractic. Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends. She liked playing cards and games, was an avid seamstress, enjoyed crafts, cooking, reading and golf. She served as President of the Babysitting Coop, and secretary on the board of the Wayzata Soccer Club as well as an age level coordinator and team manager for the soccer club.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Dave Schmidt.

She will be missed by her children, Jason DuBois of Delano, MN, Jessie Lenton (Ryan) of Buffalo, MN, and Jordan DuBois (Darcie) of Braselton, GA. Her grandchildren, Tristan, Everett, and Bennett Lenton of Buffalo and Oxleigh DuBois of Braselton, GA. Her mother, Vonnie Schmidt Walker of Wells, MN, and sister Janice Cook (Don) of St. Cloud, MN.
