Sonja Delores Lamers passed away on August 27th, 2025 surrounded by her family at Abbot Northwestern Hospital. Sonja was a beloved wife to Ron Lamers, mother to her three children, Ron’s five children, and Grandma/Oma to thirty-seven grandchildren. Sonja was a beautiful, caring, vibrant woman, who used her gifts every day to help others.

She was born in Bemidji, Minnesota and attended Minneapolis Vocational High School to become an Esthetician. Sonja was a model for various department store ads, then worked at the salon in Dayton’s department store, and eventually started her own salon business in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota called Sonja’s. She was an entrepreneur and spent many years managing her salon. Sonja's work was very important to her, where she offered her gifts of healing hands and compassionate listening every day for her many clients.

Sonja raised her three children with her first husband, Bryan, in East Bethel, Minnesota. She loved gardening and being there for her kids with all their activities and sports. She was a devoted and loving mother, raising her kids to not fear pursuing their own dreams.

She met Ron in 2007 and married him on June 9th, 2018. Sonja and Ron enjoyed traveling, going to plays, listening to music, and spending time with their combined families. Sonja was a devoted grandmother who loved doing crafts and being silly with all her grandkids. Her faith in God was strong and the gift she had to help others feel seen, heard, and loved was a true gift from God. She will be deeply missed by many.
