Stephen (Steve) H. Melchionne passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and two sons.
Steve was born in Pottsville, PA on January 12, 1943, to Joseph Melchionne and Elizabeth (Weikel) Melchionne. He served proudly in the US Navy from 1962-66. Steve loved fishing, hunting, and being with his family. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved joking with friends and family members. People often wondered if he was serious or not. Steve was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus of Wurtsboro, NY before relocating to St. Louis Park, MN to be closer to his family.
Steve is survived by his wife Mildred of 43 years, his two sons Stephen Melchionne (Natasha), David Melchionne-Martinez (John), his granddaughter Carmela, and two bonus grandchildren, Jackson and Evelyn Karn of Minneapolis. He is also survived by his daughters Ginger Weiss (Kyle), Lisa Bochicchia (Bill), Lynn Hubler (Brian), and Crystal Malyszko (Tommy) and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Pennsylvania.
Steve is predeceased by JoAnn Roehrig, Karen Melchionne and Steve Roehrig.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Gearty-Delmore Park Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave S, St. Louis Park, time to be announced.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, 2914 W. 44th St, Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
