Susan (Susie) Sylvia Bojar  (nee Singer)

Our Lord selected the morning of Dec 5, 2025, to silently escort Mom to heaven where our Dad Tony Sr waited there to embrace her. They would spend their first Christmas back together after 29 years apart. She was ninety-seven.

Spring, Summer, & Fall Mom and Dad were on the golf course as members at Island View Golf Club in Waconia, MN. After Dad’s passing in 1997, Mom moved to a 9-Hole Ladies League at New Hope Village Golf where she got her Hole-In-One (she was so proud of that accomplishment)! At age 80 she still walked the course pulling her loaded bag and then decided it was now time to use a golf cart with select clubs in her Sunday Bag and continued to play a 9-Hole League plus one other day just for fun. At age 90 when her balance became an issue, she left the turf course and satisfied her need to swing a club by hitting a bucket of whiffle golf balls every afternoon like clockwork in her townhome unfinished basement, head upstairs after that to watch Judge Judy and then prepare dinner while enjoying a glass of red wine. Ironically, she could easily swing the club, yet walking without aid was a true struggle. The MN Twins lost a Super Fan with Mom’s passing. She enjoyed watching their games on TV, getting to know players’ names and positions, and how they played (or struggled) each game.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on June 14, 1928, Mom was proud to proclaim to everyone that she was born on Flag Day. Despite her patriotic red/white/blue birthdate, her favorite color is purple. Mom used to boast that she had not been in the hospital since the birth of Tony Jr. We reminded her of when she had had her Pacemaker put in at age 86, to which she replied that she was only on the hospital’s Observation Floor overnight and that did not count! Mom was hospitalized at age 94 for a dislocated shoulder.

Mom and Dad were married in Milwaukee, WI on Aug 28, 1947. They raised their family (daughter Nancy and son Tony Jr) in Green Bay, WI and she was a stay-at-home Mom. When they became Empty Nesters they moved to Eden Prairie, MN where Mom returned to work at Creek Valley Elementary School in Edina, MN as a Paraprofessional. After Tony Sr’s unexpected death, Mom moved to a new townhome in 2001 in Plymouth, MN to be closer to her children. Two years ago, Mom transitioned to Plymouth’s Cornerstone Assisted Living where the caring staff there made each day a joy for her (read – Bingo, playing cards, faith-based offerings by the Chaplain, inhouse social activities, and delicious meals).

Preceding her in death is husband Tony Sr on Feb 22, 1997, 6 months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Their Welsh Terrier Jessie gave comfort and companionship to Mom until Jessie’s passing a few years after Tony Sr. Dec 5, 2025, closes the book on the Singer Family with parents, siblings, and other relatives passing before her.

Celebrating Mom’s life are her two children with their spouses, 4 Grandchildren with their spouses, and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Daughter Nancy (Glen, known as Slick) Kroft of Maple Grove, MN and Son Tony Jr (Mitzi) Bojar of Plymouth, MN. Grandchildren: Nick (April) Kroft Charleston, SC; Evan (Kayla) Bojar Newport, MN; Laura (Mike) Jorgensen St. Michael, MN; Madeline (Spencer) Price Rosemount, MN. Great Grandchildren: Noah Kroft, Anthony Jorgensen, Emerson and Theo Bojar, Wilson Price, and the youngest, Twins Axel & Ava Jorgensen. Also missing Mom (and her treats) are fur-Grandbabies Bella, Cooper, Lexus, Grayson, Finn, and Emmitt.
