Susan "Susie" Christine Dedo - Jahoda

Susie was born on August 9, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joseph and Wanda Dedo. She passed away on March 30, 2025.

Susie graduated from Patrick Henry High School (now known as Camden High School), Minneapolis. She earned a Bachelor of Science, Secondary Education, from Wisconsin State University – Superior and a second Bachelor of Science from the University of Salzburg, Austria.

She began her teaching career in Eagle River, Wisconsin serving as co-librarian and teaching speech and theatre arts. She returned to Minnesota in the late 1970’s as school librarian and Media Generalist in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. She retired from Anoka-Hennepin School District in 2012.

Susie married the love of her life, James Harold Jahoda (Jimmy), in 1986 in a destination wedding on the Island of Jamaica. Susie and Jimmy loved to travel. They incorporated the cultures, history, arts, architecture, food, people and gardens in the adventures, which took them to destinations in the U.S., Europe, Caribbean, South America, Mexico and Canada. Wherever she traveled, Susie had a kind word for every stranger she met along the way. She will be missed.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Jahoda, parents Joseph and Wanda Dedo, and furry 4-legged boys, Harold and Henry. She is survived by sister, Wanda Jo Crivits, nephew, T. J. Crivits (April), niece, Jamie Christine Crivits Cardwell (Ronnie), step-son, James Wm. Jahoda, step-daughter, Linda Golden (Jeff), and furry, 4-legged boy, Frank.

Please join us for a celebration of Susie’s life on August 9, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., dessert reception to follow, at Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka, 2030 Wayzata Boulevard East, Wayzata, MN 55391. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley, MN.
