Susan passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at age 89. She was born on March 13, 1935, in Minneapolis to Cornealius and Estelle Gardner. She graduated from Washburn High School.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, George; their three children, Pamela (Rick) O’Connell, Bradley (Pat) and Douglas (Mona); grandchildren, Taryn (Chris) Johnson, Ryan (Laura) Andersen, Eric (Jessie) Andersen, Lucas (Alissa) Andersen, Kathryn (Erik) Ruda, Matthew (Cassie) Andersen, Kristen (Nate) Gage; and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Enid Klein, and brothers, Francis (Neal) and Peter Gardner.
Susan was employed by Wayzata Public Schools for over 20 years, supporting elementary media centers. In her retirement, Susan enjoyed traveling and painting, living in Mission, Texas in the winters.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 25 at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Avenue North, Plymouth, followed by interment at Fort Snelling.

Susan was a polio survivor, being one of the first group of children treated by Sister Kenny, who had developed a new rehabilitative approach to treating polio.
