Thomas A. Hayden

Thomas A. Hayden (Tom), 82 of Maple Grove, formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully Friday, January 28, 2022.  Tom is preceded in death by infant daughter, Nicole; brothers Jim, Bill and sister Mary Jo.

Tom is survived by wife of 62 years, Kathy; children Kevin and Mika (James) Kunz; grandchildren Emily (Chris) Beard, Patrick (Amanda), Hayden, Meghan, Callahan and Brogan; brothers Mike and Dick and sisters Jean, Anne, Bernie, Keenie and Trish.

Tom grew up on a farm in Le Sueur.  After serving 2 years in the Navy Reserve, he moved to Minneapolis and began working downtown.  Tom began his career in banking at Northwestern National Bank (now Wells Fargo) and through his work ethic and relationship building skills became a financial management professional in individual and institutional sales working at Allison-Williams Co. and Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley.

Following retirement Tom volunteered at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics as a baby holder and comforter.  He had a true gift for helping little ones settle, rest and ultimately heal.

Tom’s family was his priority and he was proud of them.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was kind, had an incredibly generous heart, and was always willing to help others.  Tom’s friends and clients often said, “There is no better man than Tom Hayden” and he will be missed by those who knew him.
