Tom Sawvel

Thomas Dean (Tom) Sawvel, 86, of Medina, died June 15 of congestive heart failure.

Founder of T.D. Sawvel Co. and a lover of flathead Fords (Tom’s ’34), Tom was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club, MRSA and the Southern Cruzers.

He was preceded in death by parents, Pauline and Floyd; son-in-law, Donald Stordahl.

Tom is survived by wife of 45 years, Arlene (Berglund); children, Kelly Stordahl, Troy (Montserrat) Sawvel, Wendy (Aimee and Liam Luu) Sawvel, Shelley and Shawne McLean; granddaughters, Shaylene (Jake) Finn, Christina (Ethan) Komro, Stephanie and Elizabeth Sawvel; five great grandchildren; sister, Betty Reckinger; brothers, Richard and David (Joyce) Sawvel; many other relatives and friends.

Private services will be held.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the donor’s charity of choice, in Tom’s memory.
