Walter R. Edstrom

Walter R. Edstrom, 83, of New Hope, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love on Sat., Feb. 14, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin, his mother, Lillian, his four brothers, Kenny, Al, Dick, & Don, and his four sisters, Lorraine, Alice, Lois & Barb.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, LuAne; daughters, Paula (Dean) Bentley, Amy (Robb) Kennedy, and Sara Edstrom; grandchildren, Bobby, Steffen, Lily, Will, and Jackson; brother, Ron (Linda); many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Wally was born and raised in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1960. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. He married LuAne in 1968. Wally and LuAne started their family in 1972 with Paula, Amy in 1976, and Sara in 1977. They bought their home in New Hope in 1976, where they have lived for the past 50 years.

Wally worked at Heinrich Envelope Company in Golden Valley for 41 years. He retired in 2007 and spent the last 19 years golfing, fishing, shopping, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and many friends.

Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 22 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
