Christopher J. Bechtold

Christopher “Chris” Jon Bechtold

age 47 of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2017. Chris was born on Dec. 22, 1969 to Jeanne (Floyd) Bechtold and John Bechtold in Denver, CO.  He graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott, Arizona in 1988.

Chris served in the US Army for 10 years where he was trained as a critical care flight paramedic.  Chris married Kayla in September 1988.  They raised their children, Christopher and Andrea in Alaska, South Korea, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.  Chris and Kayla divorced in 2001.

After active duty service, Chris was a medic for North Memorial, Mayo and as a contractor overseas in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Israel.  Chris has continued to teach critical care classes for health care professionals.  He also enjoyed teaching classes at Bill’s Gun Shop in Robbinsdale, MN.

Chris and Shellie were married in June 2015 and lived in Grand Forks, ND with son’s Haden and Logan Wright, recently moving to Plymouth, MN.

Chris was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved to hunt, fish, hike and find critters.  He had a talent and passion for photography.  He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia Bechtold; grandparents, Jeane and Evelyn Floyd and aunt, Dorothy Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Shellie; children, Christopher and Andrea Bechtold, Haden and Logan Wright; parents, Jeanne Bechtold and John Bechtold (Mary); grandfather, Carl Bechtold; sisters, Vicki Milner (Tim) and Kathy Bechtold; step sister, Dusty Mueller; step brother, Shawn Hughes; aunts and uncles, Linda Cubbison, Paula Colbath, Bill Bechtold (Jean), Nancy Vardell (Woody), Jane Bechtold and Mary Stahley (Charlie); nieces and nephews, Amber and Cody Milner, Kateland and Aubrey Christensen, Riley Adkisson, Caylee Mueller and Candass Hughes.

Memorial service 10 am Saturday, February 18 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 County Road 6, Plymouth with visitation beginning at 9 am.
