Christopher “Chris” Dronen, 71, of Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.
Christopher had a passion for music and embraced this throughout his life. He was a multi-instrumentalist and served on the board of a local radio station, KFAI, as well as programming two radio shows "Shockwave" and "Acoustica and Electronia". He spoke to his wife-to-be for the first time when she called his show to find out where she could find an album by Tangerine Dream. Christopher recorded performances of artists from around the world, which were played on KFAI. He valued the musical community at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Christopher was also an avid comic collector, movie aficionado and history buff. Chris loved to travel and visited many countries around the world with his family.
He is survived by wife of 37 years, Katherine Jursik; sons, Eric and Peter (Jessica); grandson, Samuel; sister, Elyce Santerre; numerous nieces, loving family in the US and Norway and many friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Maurice and Ruth Alice.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, Jan. 16 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave S., Mpls, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
