Guy Larson Obituary

Guy Joseph Larson of Plymouth, MN, age 72, passed away on November 4, 2023 of cardiac arrest while setting up chairs for one of his many regular AA meetings. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 19th, 1951 to Ralph and Florence Larson, growing up in Golden Valley and Robbinsdale with his 5 siblings.  He graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1969 where he was the captain of the gymnastics team. Following high school, he attended Mankato State University. In 1971 he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 25th Infantry Division of the Air Cavalry at Barbers Point in Oahu, Hawaii. His 15 year marriage to Kathleen Larson in 1976 resulted in his 3 beloved children and 5 cherished grandchildren.

Guy was a Vice President and Chief Estimator for Lametti & Sons, which included the management of the high-profile Soudan Mine Subatomic Mass Project. He was also a member of AA for 41 years where he sponsored many men and spent countless hours in the service of others. In his retirement, he enjoyed daily walks, fishing trips, kayaking, paddle boarding, golf, photography, travel, snowshoeing, spending time with his grandkids, and hosting his family for holidays. He lived most of his life in Minnesota and also very much enjoyed his 6 years in the high deserts of New Mexico. He lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed.
