James Paul Zuccaro, age 67 of Prior Lake, formerly of Mound, MN. Born January 4, 1956, baptized at The Basilica of St. Mary, and confirmed at Our Lady of the Lake, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Sunday September 3, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his father John Joseph, and his brother Joseph Francis. Jim is survived by his mother Mary; children Blake Robert Darsow (Molly), Jacob James, Jamie Marie (Tony), and his former wife and mother of his children Melissa Zuccaro; grandchildren Lydia Lucille and Giovanni James; siblings, Reta Vomela (Paul), Anthony (Cheryl), Thomas, and Patrick (Lori); nieces and nephews Allana (Jordan), Jennifer (Diego), Michael, Vincent, Phillip, Lena, Page, Gus, and Dylan.
Jimmy grew up on Lake Minnetonka and was an excellent hockey player and coach, water and snow skier. He graduated from Mound Westonka High School, and was part owner of Westonka Sanitation with his parents and his brother Joey.
Jimmy was so proud of his children Blake, Jacob, and Jamie. He adored his grandchildren Lydia and Giovanni, who brought so much joy into his life. He was just in the middle of putting a race car set together for Giovanni, and was looking forward to teaching him how to ice skate. Jim was known for his witty sense of humor, his kindness he showed to everyone, and his flare for style.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 12th at Our Lady of the Lake, 2385 Commerce Blvd., Mound, MN. Visitation at Our Lady one hour before Mass. Following the service burial will be at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery, then luncheon at Gillespie Center, 2590 Commerce Blvd, to celebrate Jimmy.
