Cassioppi, Joseph L., Age 85 of Eden Prairie, passed away peacefully at home February 12, 2024, surrounded by family.

He was born October 4th in Rockford, Ill. to Larry and Antoinette (LaFranka) Cassioppi. He went to Montegue grade school and West High School and attended Northern Illinois University. Thereafter he started in sales and became a pilot.  Joe lived a full and active life deeply rooted by his family and faith.  He became an Eagle Scout at 14 and was involved in Scouting his entire life. He was a brilliant salesman of everything from coins to jet airplanes. Joe was a very generous man who enjoyed nurturing his sales team to great success.  He loved the outdoors and instilled a similar love of outdoor activities in his children. He lived a full, adventurous, and happy life with his wonderful family, traveling throughout the world for business and pleasure, and always settling back home in Minnesota, happiest at the cabin at Trout lake. Joe was lovingly cared for in his last years of life by Mary.

Survived by loving wife Mary; children Michelle Guertin (Peter), Larry  (Linda), Lisa (Dan), Denise Barfknecht (Norm), Joseph (Samantha), Sharie  (Matt), Bobby (Sarah); 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

His family offers sincere thanks to Dr. Jim Giefer, Dr. Choi, and caregivers Tina, Isabel and Sheng.

Catholic Mass 11 AM Tuesday, February 20, at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie.  Visitation at church Tuesday from 9:30-11 AM.
