Nancy was born November 11, 1943 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Drs. Robert and Gretchen Schreffler. She moved to Kolona and then Coralville, IA and graduated from Iowa City High School in 1961. Nancy married Frederick Glenn Moore on June 14, 1964 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City. The family lived in Coralville, Iowa City, and Cedar Falls, IA and moved to Plymouth, MN in 1978.

Nancy was very active in her church, Oak Knoll Lutheran, through leadership positions, bible studies, worship, and fellowship. She had a quiet, strong, and steady faith, even in times of difficulty. She was creative, working with stained glass, painting, sewing, needlework, and crafts of all kinds. She enjoyed laughter, games, scoop (or two) of ice cream, and vacationing with family. Nancy was energetic in supporting her children’s activities from brownie leader and cub scout den mother to bleacher mom and with her church friends in the Red Hat Society. She was a full-time stay-at-home mom when her children were growing up and worked as an office manager and commercial service representative at the Ross Nesbitt insurance agency for many years. She gave unwavering care and encouragement to her family and friends.

Nancy lived with Parkinson’s Disease for over 25 years. She faced it with dignity, stubbornness, humor, determination, and faith. She was resolute to stay active and involved, even as the disease progressed. She never complained, she often said that if it weren’t for Parkinson’s she’d be the healthiest person around. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at Struthers Parkinson’s Center in Golden Valley.

Nancy is survived Fred, her husband of 58 years; children, Bob (Janis) Moore of Saint Michael, MN, David (Tammy) Moore of Los Alamos, NM and Tracy (Scott) Colestock of Andover, MN; grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Christina, Tyler, Nathan (Maddie), Grant (Gwen), Grace and Anna; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Phoebe; and sister Lyn (Steve) Hayslett of Iowa City, IA.
