Paul W. Ditter

5/29/1928 - 4/23/2022 Age 93, of Brooklyn Center, preceded in death by beloved wife of 71 years Kathleen, parents Anthony and Caroline, step-mother Marie, brothers Leo, Anthony, Jerry (Vernell), Joseph (Phyllis), John, sisters Margaret Bezenar (Tony) Dorothy Neddermeyer (Wayne) & Caroline Hanrehan (Walt), step-siblings Claire Clare, Don & Art Arnoldy & Doris Bronson.  Survived by children, Jeannie (John Rodgers), Steven, Michelle (Kris Kirkbride), Laurence, Mary Beth (Ray Morales); step-grandchildren, Brant Berg, Bianca Morales-Egan (Scott Egan) and their children Dav and Liam; step-sister Ardis Edmonds & sister-in-law Anyce Ditter, many loving relatives and friends.  Paul was born and attended grade school in Holy Name and high school in Wayzata, where he ran track. He worked in the steel industry as an estimator and project manager, including managing the steel erection for the tallest building in MN. He served on the BC planning commission and was active in many other civic and volunteer activities, always the first to lend a hand. He loved building, including remodeling two family homes and a lake cabin. He designed over 20 houses for friends and relatives. Paul was an accomplished pianist and organist and enjoyed playing for family and friends. He also played the organ and sang in the choir at St Alphonsus. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, summer days at his lake cabin, and in retirement, trips west to visit family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know him. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 155 County Rd 24, Wayzata MN 55391, Monday, May 23 11AM, visitation 90 min prior & lunch to follow, both at Church. Family requests masks be worn. Private interment. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or Sharing & Caring.
