Virginia “Ginny” D. Barnum, age 84 of Maple Grove, MN. Formerly of Fargo, ND and Detroit Lakes, MN. Passed away January 15, 2022 in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Ginny was born January 27, 1937 in Bismarck, ND to Richard and Mildred (Engen) Anderson. She was a graduate of Fargo Central High School. In 1954, she married Donald R. Osterberg. Don and Ginny owned & operated the Fireside Supper Club in Detroit Lakes for over 11 years. Ginny was also a travel agent at Lake Region Travel in Detroit Lakes for several years, was a coordinator for Education First, a foreign student exchange program for over 21 years and was a member of First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes for over 50 years. In 1989, she was united in marriage to Lowell Barnum.
Ginny is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell; brother, Thomas Anderson, and son-in-law, Kelly Frost.
She is survived by children, Laurie Sapper, Julie (Al) Blau, Sheila Frost, Craig (Stacey) Osten & Cara Ruff; step-daughters, LynnEtte (Elmer) Mueller & Melodie (Eric) Allen; grandchildren, Erik (Jennifer Testa) Sapper, Nick (Becca Hart) Sapper, Chris (Ally) Sapper, Allison, Emily & Angela Blau, Lexi (Noah) Frost, Luke (Natalie) Frost & Rachel & Raina Ruff; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Mueller, Melissa Mueller, Joshua (Alice) Allen & Daniel Allen; great-grandchildren, Jane, Soloman, Calvin & Stone Sapper, Selah Wren Paulman; step great-grandchildren, Brighton, Hadasah & Helena Allen; sister-in-law, Arlene Anderson; other relatives and friends.
