Lee Frank Olson, age 63 of Medina, MN passed away of an apparent heart attack at the family cabin on December 12, 2020. He grew up in Clara City, Minnesota and graduated from Clara City High School in 1975. He attended the United States Military Academy and was commissioned as a 2 nd Lieutenant in 1979. During his years of service he graduated from Ranger School and achieved the rank of Captain before he was honorably discharged. After leaving the Army he worked as an engineer for Alliant Techsystems Op LLC (Northrup Grumman) until he retired in June 2019.

Lee was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He was very generous with his time as he spent many years coaching youth football, basketball and baseball teams with various organizations. As his sons grew older he enjoyed the transition to becoming a fan watching them play and supporting their teams as they started careers as college football coaches. The summer and fall weekends spent with his family at the lake, the ranch and football games were the happiest moments in his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Vern and Shirley Olson. He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 32 years, Betty; sons Luke and Grant (Amy); sister Kris (Hy) Grossman; brother Kirk (Jane); nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
