Zachary Charles Bichler

Zachary Charles Bichler, 24, passed away unexpectedly July 5th.

Zach was a lover of life with the energy to experience all of it. He was passionate and had many loves. He loved his family, his friends, his dogs, his "Irish Squad", playing hockey, golfing, bonfires, choosing different shoes to match each outfit he wore, and stealing raw batter from anything being baked.

At a young age, Zach became a Gopher hockey fanatic and never lost his love of the sport, attending many Gopher and Wild games with family and friends, playing for the Rosemount Irish and the club hockey teams at UNL and the U of M.

Zach became a keen observer of current events and a Joe Rogan aficionado. He enjoyed debating politics and other less agreeable topics with his dad, but mainly it pleased him to simply get his dad riled.

Zach loved to use his sharp witted humor to charm people and make them laugh. He loved to push the limits, raise a ruckus, stir the pot, and create a memory that had a great story to go along. All his life he loved working with his hands to build things, first using his scotch tape dispenser and cardboard to now helping renovate the cabin and his new found passion for woodworking. We will treasure the gifts he created and all the stories he left us.

Perhaps most of all, Zach was a lover of dogs. All dogs. A very recent memory of Zach is of him holding and loving up on a puppy at a bonfire at the lake, and he was happy.

We will always remember and cherish these memories of our son.

Zach is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernie and Delrose Bichler, Joe Michels and his dogs Lincoln and Winnie.

He is survived by parents, Chuck and Chris; brother, Alex of Eugene OR; sister, Kristi(Justin)Lovell of Sioux Falls, SD; grandma, Jan Michels and many very special aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, great-aunts and uncles, godparents, teammates, friends.

We love you, Zach.
We miss you.
Go in peace.
Heaven just got a little livelier.
