Cherished husband, father, uncle, cousin and friend.
Survived by wife, Jean; children, Sandra (Darwin) Wilde and Scott (Kalen) Schultz; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jonathan) Conser and Christian Wilde; great grandchildren, Aaron and Helenna; niece, Katherine (Steve) Hlusak; nephew, Mark Thieringer; stepchildren, Randy (Julie) Rokala, Ranae (Dale) Clover, Joe (Karol Rae) Rokala, and Jim (Peggy) Rokala; 12 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Catherine; sister, June; and first wife of 51 years, Marcella.
Richard was a sergeant in the US Army during WWII serving mainly in Germany and France. After returning home he attended the U of M and worked for Soo Line Railroad until his retirement in 1983. He served on boards for Soo Line Credit Union and North Hennepin Community College. He was a talented artist and taught rosmaling and wood carving in his retirement. A devoted Gopher fan, he never missed a game. Quick with a joke and a smile, he touched many lives.
