Gerry moved to Minneapolis at age 14 and graduated from North High School. She married Clifford Brandt in 1937, raised four children and was a long time, proud resident of Robbinsdale. Gerry had a deep Catholic faith, was proud of her family and Irish ancestry. She got her great sense of humor and good luck from those roots. She loved going to the casino, but her Irish luck was best illustrated when she won a church lottery and took her family to Hawaii. Gerry's generosity was always evident, especially opening her home to family members. She volunteered throughout her life, including as an election judge, a "refunder" at Sacred Heart, and helping nursing home residents into her 80s. She worked in the Brandt family floral business and in later years for the Billy Graham organization. Gerry had many talents, including playing piano by ear and whistling beautifully. Gerry died peacefully on Jan. 17th surrounded by family.
